Flaming apple cafe in Berwick-upon-Tweed

"Stopped by for a cup of tea , and got a traditional Pot of tea for two with milk - delicious ( must be the water ). Cafe was quiet ( due to time of arrival ). Decided to stay for Brunch , food and prices are reasonable . Food was prepared freshly and served in a timely manner . Staff are delightful, welcoming and friendly and would recommend this cafe for a relaxing and quiet breakfast , brunch or dinner ."

"Just wanted to add, aside from excellent food and drinks, thank goodness no background music. Can be a noisy distraction when talking and when relaxing over a cuppa. We particularly avoid cafes with music of any kind. Best for holiday makers , locals, couple's and dogs. Been back again and greeted by such lovely people who run the cafe. The food is absolutely delicious. Everyone is greeted with such warm hospitality. Highly recommend"

"Came across by chance and so pleased I did. Lovely atmosphere including quietly playing music and really nice decor (loved the giant knife, fork and spoon on the wall). Exceptional friendly service. Tasty coffee and haggis sandwich. When I’m back next I’ll try home-bakes as they looked great. Avoid the chain cafes and visit what is clearly a well run family business."

"We had lunch here today. The place is nicely decorated and airy, and the tables are far enough apart to give plenty of personal space. The toasted sandwiches were excellent, served with salad and chips. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and made us feel right at home. It is a dog friendly place too, which is really nice. Highly recommended."

"Stopped by for lunch with friends. Food was amazing. I got the omelette with chips and a tuna filling and it was delicious. The staff were also lovely and attentive. It's true that the further up North you go, the more lovely the people are."

"We popped in here after walking the ramparts on a drizzly day. The initial appeal was there was enough room to park up the pram, but we also had a hungry 4yo to attend to. The food and quality is very reasonably-priced and good quality, and the staff are extremely friendly. It’s dog-friendly too, so worth a visit!"

"This cafe was a lovely stop, cheerful on a gloomy day. The food was absolutely delicious and excellent value, especially the soup & toastie. Great friendly service too. We were too full for dessert so took a few homemade cakes to takeaway and they were much enjoyed too. Highly recommend and we will go back when next in Berwick!"

"Popped in to this lovely cafe for a coffee while I was visiting Berwick recently. I like to support independent businesses if I can and it was lovely. It was quiet with only one other table of customers but it was fine. Drinks were lovely and the staff were great. Even used the facilities and it was like being in someone’s house. Super clean and homely!! The cafe is dog friendly and met a very enthusiastic ice cream lover which added some amusement to our time there. We didn’t order food as we weren’t hungry but the food at the other table looked delicious. Very lovely decorated and had a nice atmosphere. Would definitely return if I’m in the area."
